In the Hybernská Campus, another get-together of FameLab finalists took place. This time it was not merely a friendly chat over good coffee and cake, but also a genuine exchange of information. Our alumni know the drill – just three minutes to present, forcing you to say what you need clearly, briefly and to the point. And yes, it was fun too!

Julie Nováková opened the meeting with a brilliant stand-up set introducing the nanoscale. Indeed, as she put it, there’s plenty of room at the bottom. Julie is the author of the comic *Secrets of the Nanoscale*, which quite literally draws you in.

Tomáš Nováček from the Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU) talked about himself, his research and work (virtual reality), and his projects – including books and a documentary currently being made about the life challenges he has faced.

Tereza Pluskalová, working at the Office of the Government on the “Digitalising Czechia” project, invited everyone to collaborate and reminded us how crucial it is to keep strengthening our individual digital skills.

Terezie Ticháčková outlined the activities of the Postdoc Club at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry (IOCB) and encouraged those present to take part. Topics welcomed include CV improvement, career opportunities, presentation skills and more.

Lucie Vránová concluded the presentation section by showing how she communicates both science and motherhood. She is the proud new mum of a baby girl and an enthusiastic populariser of virology.

The next meeting will take place at the end of autumn 2025 – by which time we’ll be welcoming the newest members of our FameLab family!
